The main shrine is located in Saijo City, and passing through the large torii gate reveals a quiet, green-surrounded sanctuary. The historic shrine buildings conveying the tradition of mountain worship and the views from stone steps overlooking the mountain are worth seeing, and simply visiting as a family will fill you with a refreshed spirit. 石鎚山から流れる加茂川の河畔を舞台に、毎年夏に開催されてきた西条市民納涼花火大会です。中堤防一帯が観覧エリアとなり、川面に花火の光が映り込む様子を間近で楽しめるのが魅力。打ち上げ数は公表されていませんが、夜空いっぱいに広がる花火と川のせせらぎが重なる時間は、名水のまち西条ならではの夏の風物詩です。昼から続いた1日の締めくくりにふさわしい、静かで美しいフィナーレになります。

会場周辺は当日大変混雑するため、早めに到着して場所を確保するのがおすすめです。荒天時は中止や延期の可能性があるため、当日は西条市の公式発表を確認しましょう。終了後は河川敷から道路に出るまで時間がかかることがあるので、時間に余裕を持って行動を。

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Iyo-Saijo Station. The sanctuary is centered around paved approach paths and is easy to walk, accessible even with strollers. While summer offers plenty of shade, midday heat can be intense, so make sure to hydrate regularly.
