Grand panorama from a white lighthouse overlooking the Kitan Strait
About this spot
A white lighthouse standing at the tip of Kata's headland, offering views of Awaji Island and Tomogashima Island across the Kitan Strait. A well-maintained walking path leads to the lighthouse, making for a scenic stroll with sea breezes. On clear days, the contrast between the blue sea and white lighthouse is beautiful and popular for photography. The changing colors of light as evening approaches add another attraction to the experience.

全国から奉納された人形やひな人形が境内を埋め尽くすことで知られる、加太の海辺に鎮座する神社です。2026年の夏越し祭は7月31日の日没から始まり、夏の穢れを祓う神事として地元で大切にされてきました。海に面した境内は日没とともに空の色が刻々と変わり、灯りがともる頃には昼間とはまったく違う静かで厳かな雰囲気に包まれます。人形にまつわる由緒ある神社ならではの独特な境内の雰囲気も、家族で歩いてみる価値のある見どころです。1日の締めくくりにふさわしい、海と祈りの時間を過ごせます。
Tips
日没時刻は季節や天候で前後するため、余裕を持って早めに向かいましょう。境内は砂利道の箇所もあるため、歩きやすい靴がおすすめです。夜は海風で体感温度が下がることがあるので、薄手の羽織ものがあると安心です。
Tips
The lighthouse surroundings include rocky terrain, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. There's almost no shade, so wear a hat or bring a parasol in mid-summer. Access from the parking area to the lighthouse is on foot.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. Afternoon light softens the sea colors beautifully.
