About this spot
A scenic spot where the flow of the Yoshino River has carved through giant rocks, creating a beautiful gorge with a distinctive keyhole-shaped rock formation. In summer, the shallow waters attract families enjoying water play, and the transparent stream brings refreshing coolness from the Shikoku mountains. Trails are also developed around the area, allowing you to enjoy the scenery of the gorge from above. It's the perfect place to cool your body from the afternoon sun and heat.

剣山の麓に広がるつるぎ町貞光地区で、町を挙げて開催される阿波踊り大会です。会場となる貞光中央商店街と旧永井家庄屋屋敷の周辺には、8月15日・16日の2日間、19時から21時半にかけて地元の連が集まり、鉦と太鼓のお囃子に合わせて踊りを披露します。昼間見学した歴史ある屋敷や二層うだつの町並みを背景に踊りが繰り広げられる光景は、この町ならではの情緒あふれる雰囲気です。都市部の大規模な阿波踊りとは違い、地域の人々との距離が近いアットホームな祭りを楽しめます。
Tips
会場周辺は当日交通規制がかかることがあります。夜間は町並みの奥まで街灯が少ない箇所もあるので、懐中電灯があると安心です。荒天時の開催可否は最新の案内で確認しましょう。
Tips
If you plan to play in the water, bring a change of clothes and towels. Access may be restricted during high water periods, so check conditions on the day. The path from the parking area to the riverside can be slippery in places, so be careful.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. Afternoon hours when the sun is less intense are most comfortable for water activities.
