A rare museum in the world dedicated to towels, located in Imabari, which boasts Japan's highest towel production volume. Upon entering the museum, you're greeted by countless colorful thread spools stacked across entire walls. In the galleries, you can view art pieces created from towel fabric and popular character collaborations, and there's also a corner where you can observe the towel manufacturing process up close. The attached shop displays high-quality Imabari towels in abundance, and with its European-style garden and café, you can spend the morning of your journey in a leisurely and elegant manner.
Tips
About 20 minutes by car from Imabari city center. The free parking lot is spacious with plenty of space in the morning. The gallery requires admission, but the shop and café are free to enter. The building is air-conditioned, so a light cardigan is a good idea.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Early morning right after opening, the galleries are quiet and allow for leisurely viewing.
