Next stop: Enter the venue, secure a viewing spot, and soak in the mood before the fireworks beginAbout this spot
Take care of dinner prep and a rest around Nyugawa Station, the closest station to tonight's fireworks venue. On the day of the festival, food stalls and vendors line the area around the station too, giving off a pre-festival buzz. Picking up drinks and snacks at a convenience store or supermarket makes for reassuring, long-hour viewing at the venue. Use the restroom, sort out your belongings, and get ready for the walk toward the venue in the Asahi-shinkai area. Crowds start building around the station as the day goes on, so the key is to move early toward the venue.
Tips
Nyugawa Station is on the JR Yosan Line, and extra or special trains may run on the day of the festival. Check the return train schedule in advance. The Asahi-shinkai venue is just a few minutes' walk from the station. Restrooms near the venue tend to get crowded, so it's best to use them before you head over.
Best time to visit
About 2 hours. Use the cooler early evening hours for an unhurried prep and rest
