About this spot

Selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Famous Waters, this spring is a signature spot in Uto City. The pond, fed by an abundant flow of spring water, maintains a stable temperature year-round, wrapping the area in cool air even in the height of summer. It has a long history of being cherished as a source of water for daily life in the community, and simply gazing at the waterside scenery is calming. Cool off here after visiting the castle ruins and shrine before heading to the shopping street.

Tips

Since the water is still used in daily life by local residents, please observe good manners and view it quietly. There is little large shade nearby, so a hat is reassuring in summer.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. This is a place where you can feel the coolness most during the times when the sun is strongest.
