2026年の祗園祭は8月1日(土)、いちき串木野市の湊町地区一帯を会場に開催されます。古くから漁業やかつお節づくりで栄えた港町を舞台に、地域の人々が受け継いできた伝統ある夏祭りで、祭り太鼓の音や地域団体による催しが通りを彩ります。薩摩藩英国留学生が旅立った歴史ある海辺の町らしく、港の風情を感じながら過ごす夏の夜は、家族の思い出にぴったりの時間になります。

会場周辺は当日交通規制がかかることがあるため、公共交通機関の利用が安心です。夜は海風で肌寒く感じることがあるため、薄手の羽織ものがあると快適です。荒天時の開催可否は主催者の発表を確認しましょう。
Tips
It's approximately 15 minutes by car from the memorial hall. Admission is required. There are slopes throughout the garden, so wear comfortable walking shoes.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour visit time. The afternoon hours with plenty of shade are most comfortable.
