Hoshioki Green Space (星置緑地)

About this spot

A green space in a residential district of Teine Ward, Sapporo, where a wetland nurtured by spring water has been left just as it is. A boardwalk has been laid out, so you can walk inside the wetland without getting your feet wet, which is a real help when you have children along. Look around and the houses are right there, yet one step in and you are wrapped in the smell of grass and water, a curiously unusual experience. It is known for skunk cabbage in spring, but in summer the greenery grows thick and there is the fun of looking for insects and birds by the water. It is not large, so it is just right as a stop when you want a short change of mood.

紅葉山南公園徒渉池は、石狩市にある無料の水遊びスポットです。2026年は6月15日(月)から9月15日(火)まで、10:00〜16:00に利用でき、市内小学校の夏休み期間は9:00〜18:00に延長されます。水深の浅い徒渉池なので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも足をひたして遊べるのが大きな魅力です。住宅街の中の公園なので人の目が届きやすく、大人は木陰から見守りながらゆっくり過ごせます。利用は無料なので、時間を気にせず気が済むまで遊ばせてあげられるのも家族連れにはうれしいところ。日の長い北海道の夏は、夕方近くまで明るいまま遊び続けられます。

Tips

毎週木曜は清掃のため運転休止となるので、出かける曜日を必ず確認してください。夏休み期間かどうかで利用時間が変わるため、石狩市の案内で当日の時間帯を確かめておくと確実です。海が近く風の強い日は体感温度が下がるので、羽織ものとすぐ着られる着替えを用意しましょう。16:00に終了する期間は、15時半ごろから片づけを始めると余裕をもって帰れます。

Tips

The boardwalk is narrow, so give way to each other when passing. It is a wetland, so there are many mosquitoes in summer and insect repellent makes the walk far more comfortable. To protect the plants and animals, tell children in advance not to step off the boardwalk. Koyozan-Minami Park is about 10 minutes away by car.
