Gifu Prefectural Museum (岐阜県博物館)

About this spot

A museum standing inside Gifu Prefectural Centennial Park where you can learn about the nature and history of the prefecture in one place. It displays fossils and rocks found within the prefecture along with the creatures that live in the wooded hills, so you can see how the nature close at hand came to be. The history section traces the livelihoods of Gifu through everyday tools and craft materials. It is inside the same park as the splash pond you will play in that afternoon, so there is no travel burden. Special exhibitions and hands-on programs are sometimes prepared during the summer holidays, which makes it a good place to look for ideas for a school research project.

関市の岐阜県百年公園にある、無料で利用できる水遊び場「岐阜県百年公園じゃぶじゃぶ池」です。2026年はプレオープンが7月11日(土)と7月12日(日)、本オープンが7月18日(土)から9月13日(日)まで(9月は土日のみ)で、時間は10時から15時までとなっています。水深が浅く、ミニ滑り台や噴水があるので、小さな子どもでも安心して水に親しめます。すぐそばには大型遊具と芝生広場があり、水から上がったあとも遊び場に困りません。夏休み期間には「じゃぶじゃぶ池夏祭り」も開催され、いつもとは違うにぎわいが楽しめます。利用は無料で、駐車場も無料です。

Tips

利用は無料で駐車場も無料です。毎週月曜日は休園(祝日の場合は翌日)なので、出発前に必ず開園日を確認してください。終了は15時と早めなので、午前の見学は時間に余裕をもって切り上げましょう。日よけになる簡易テントやレジャーシートがあると、休憩が快適になります。着替えは多めに用意し、ぬれたもの用の袋も忘れずに。

There is a viewing fee. The price changes depending on whether a special exhibition is running, and opening hours and closed days can change too, so check the official website. It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the building, so bring a hat and a drink. It is a place to be quiet in, so agreeing on that with your children beforehand is reassuring.
