This is the signature scenic spot of Higashimiyoshi Town, where the Yoshino River flows gently between huge white boulders. The deep green pools and the long line of water-polished rocks make you feel the power of the Yoshino River, nicknamed Shikoku Saburo. Walking the riverside promenade, simply looking at the shapes of the rocks and listening to the sound of the water is enough to cool you down. It sits on the same Yoshino River as the Jabu-Jabu Pond Plaza that is the star of the day, so feeling the upper and lower reaches of the river connected in a single day is part of what makes this course interesting. The scenery photographs well, so this is the place for a family picture.
Tips
The riverbank is dangerous when the water is high or after rain. On days with heavy flow, view it from the promenade only and do not go down to the water's edge. The rocks are extremely slippery when wet, so always hold your children's hands. Some sections have little shade, so do not forget hats and drinks.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. Late morning is when the river surface sparkles most beautifully
