Stroll along the Zounohana Breakwater, the Birthplace of Yokohama Port, and Rest at the Terrace

About this spot

A refurbished wharf built at the time of Yokohama's port opening—truly the "birthplace of Yokohama Port." The name comes from the curved breakwater that resembles an elephant's trunk, and from the lawn plaza you can enjoy views of the Bay Bridge and the Red Brick Warehouse. At the adjoining Zounohana Terrace, take a break with the signature Zounohana soft-serve ice cream.

Tips

The lawn plaza is open and a place where children can play freely. Zounohana Terrace offers free rest areas and restrooms, making it a convenient midpoint during your walk.

Best time to visit

Allow 1 hour; the harbor breeze is pleasant in the afternoon
