A vast park laid out over the Yamagata Castle ruins (山形城跡), where the historic scenery of surviving moats and stone walls meets broad tree-lined lawns. The grounds have plenty of shade, so you can walk in relative cool even in summer — welcome news for families. Benches are scattered throughout, so you can rest often and take your time. It also works well as a place to eat or catch your breath before the pool.

山形市総合スポーツセンターに隣接する屋外レジャープールで、2026年は7月5日(日)から8月30日(日)まで営業します(水泳大会等で入場不可の日あり)。目玉は9コースを備えた50m競泳プールで、しっかり泳ぎたい人にも本格的な水泳を楽しめます。1周130mの流水プールは浮き輪でぷかぷか流されるだけでも心地よく、家族みんなでのんびり過ごせる人気エリアです。小さな子には水深の浅い幼児プールが安心。観客スタンドも完備しているので、交代で見守りながら遊べるのも家族連れにうれしいポイントです。料金は一般250円・高校生150円・中学生以下100円と手ごろで、更衣室・シャワーも整っているため気軽に立ち寄れます。

Tips

営業時間は10:00〜18:00で、この日は17:30を目安に切り上げると余裕を持って過ごせます。水泳大会等の開催日は入場できない場合があるため、訪問前に施設の最新情報を確認しておくと安心です。売店の有無は当日確認し、必要な飲み物・軽食は事前に用意しておくと安心です。

Tips

The grounds are large, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. There are plenty of benches and shaded spots for drink breaks, which keeps things bearable in hot weather, but do make a point of resting regularly.
