About this spot

A garden developed on the former site of an imperial villa, offering a prime vantage point over Lake Ashi from land jutting out into the lake. The lush grounds also have an observation deck and rest areas, so you can enjoy the lake view at leisure. Taking in the lake where tonight's fireworks will be launched makes the evening viewing even more exciting to look forward to.

Tips

Within walking distance of Hakone Shrine. There's a slope up to the observation deck, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Admission is free.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. The clear afternoon air makes for a beautiful view of the lake and mountains.
