Jonofuchi Park
About this spot
About 2 km east of Matsubara Spring, Jonofuchi Park is another famous place where the subsurface flow of the Shigenobu River wells up. The spring pond in the park has been selected as one of the 100 Famous Waters of Japan, and peering in, you will be amazed at water so clear you can see right to the bottom. There is a children's plaza with a combination play structure and swings, plus a lawn plaza, so you can set up a flow of moving your body and then eating lunch. Visiting it together with Matsubara Spring naturally reveals where the water of the Shigenobu River comes from and where it goes, and that is what makes this course interesting. There is plenty of shade, so you can rest as you go even on hot days.
Tips
The car park is on the small side with 37 spaces (including 2 accessible spaces), and it is open from 8:00 to 19:00 from April to September. You can also play in the water right there in the park, so deciding when to change clothes before letting the children play will keep your belongings dry. If you are laying out a bento, the shaded lawn is comfortable.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 35 minutes. You can combine a look at the spring pond with lunch
