Mt. Hinata Hojobo (日向山 宝城坊)

Flow of the course

About this spot

This ancient temple, counted among Japan's three great Yakushi temples, is formally known as Hinatasan Hojobo (日向山宝城坊). About a 15-minute climb up the cedar-lined approach and stone steps from the bus stop brings you to its stately thatched-roof main hall. Known for its beautiful fresh greenery in spring and colorful foliage in autumn, the mountain trees gently envelop the approach and grounds during the autumn foliage season. Parking is also available.
