About this spot
A representative shrine of Miyazaki City dedicated to Emperor Jinmu, its grounds covered by an expansive grove that remains cool and comfortable even in the height of summer. Large trees stand on both sides of the sacred pathway, and simply walking while treading on the gravel sets one's mind at ease. The vermillion-lacquered main shrine exudes a serene atmosphere, and a leisurely tour of the grounds after worship allows you to feel the depth of Miyazaki's history. On the afternoon before the fireworks festival, this is a place where you can leisurely begin your day in quiet contemplation. It is a beloved standard Miyazaki sightseeing destination for both locals and tourists.

宮崎市の夏を代表するみやざき納涼花火大会は、大淀川の河畔・鶴島から打ち上がる約10,000発の花火が夜空を彩ります。川幅の広い大淀川を舞台にした花火は視界が広く、大きな尺玉からスターマインまでバラエティ豊かなプログラムが次々と展開します。川面に映る逆さ花火の光が揺れる様子は河川会場ならではの美しさで、南国宮崎の温かな夜風とともに忘れられない光景を作り出します。フィナーレの大スターマインは川と空を丸ごと照らす迫力で、会場全体が一体となる瞬間はこの1日のクライマックスです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は大会公式情報で確認を。終了後は会場周辺の道路と駐車場が大変混雑します。花火終了後はすぐに移動せず、河畔でしばらく余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰宅するのがおすすめです。帰り道の河畔は照明が少ない場所もあるため、足元に注意してください。

About 15 minutes by bus from Miyazaki Station, or about 10 minutes by car. Entry to the shrine grounds is free. Parking available. On the day of the fireworks festival, evening onward traffic toward the downtown area increases, so travel during late morning through early afternoon is smoother. After your visit, move to Miyazaki Prefecture General Cultural Park by car or bus.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. Late morning through early afternoon when dappled sunlight filters through is refreshing and easy to walk
