Kamakura Station is the starting point of the Enoden journey. Transfer from the JR line and a retro platform awaits, with a small green train standing by. Buy the one-day pass (Norioriken) at the ticket window and you can get on and off as many times as you like. The adorable train pulling into the platform gets kids excited even before departure.
Tips
The very front of the lead car, where you can peek into the driver's cab, is a prime spot popular with kids. Since Kamakura is the starting station, boarding here gives you a good chance of getting a seat, so it's a good idea to line up on the platform a little early.
Best time to visit
About 30 minutes; the platform is relatively uncrowded around 9am.
