Pray for travel safety at Kamakura's symbol
About this spot
Just beyond Komachi-dori, this shrine has been Kamakura's symbol for over 800 years. The scenery from the approach slope (Danzuka) through the great stone steps to the vermillion-painted main shrine is the very essence of Kamakura character. The spacious grounds have plenty of shade, making it relatively pleasant even on a summer morning. After praying for travel safety, head to your next destination toward Zaimokuza.
