Worship while gazing at the iconic torii gate standing in the lake

About this spot

An ancient shrine situated on the shore of Lake Ashi that has long been the object of devotion by samurai. As you proceed down the cedar-lined approach path, you'll reach the main hall. Below the shrine grounds stands a vermillion-painted torii gate in the lake. The landscape woven by the lake, mountains, and torii gate is one of Hakone's representative scenic views and is also popular as a photo spot. While worshiping, gaze out at the lake where fireworks will light up tonight and offer prayers for a safe journey.

2026年8月2日(日)開催、箱根園湾を舞台にした夏の花火大会です。芦ノ湖の湖上から約3,000発の花火が次々と打ち上がり、周囲の山々に音が反響して体の芯まで響く大迫力を生み出します。静かな湖面に映る花火の光も見どころで、山あいの湖ならではのスケール感が楽しめます。標高が高い立地のため、真夏でも涼しい夜風の中で花火を見上げられるのも魅力です。

Tips

荒天時は中止または内容変更となる場合があるため、当日は主催者の発表を確認しましょう。終了後は駐車場や周辺道路が混み合うため、少し余韻を楽しんでからの移動がおすすめです。夜は冷え込むので羽織ものを忘れずに。

Tips

Approximately 10 minutes by car from Hakone-en. Worship is free and you can freely explore the grounds. The area around the torii gate in the lake can get crowded with tourists, so visit with extra time to spare.
